The moving Earth uses NASA Blue Marble imagery and the Black Marble 2016 map of city lights. These are historical satellite composites, rather than a live view of the planet.
The coastal flight approaches Cape Ferrelo in Oregon, using public-domain USGS / USDA NAIP aerial imagery and USGS 3DEP elevation data. The final moment with the couple is an imagined illustration.
Regional detail uses NASA’s August 2004 Blue Marble composite over the western United States. The changing captions mark broad milestones in Earth’s history; the imagery is illustrative and does not reconstruct ancient continents or the precise timing of those changes.
A little closer to home.
Planet and Sun textures by Solar System Scope, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. The Moon uses NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio CGI Moon Kit, with LRO/LROC and LOLA data. The maps were resized and converted to WebP for this experience.
The journey compresses astronomical distances and sizes for storytelling. Its views of Earth’s development are illustrative.

Artwork prepared for the forthcoming journal includes a detail of Cuneiform tablet: hymn to Marduk, from Mesopotamia in the 1st millennium BCE. Its image invites curiosity about the transmission of stories; it is not evidence for the spiritual ideas explored here.

The flight passes through an imagined Milky Way and solar system. Distances and planet sizes are compressed for this passage across scales; it is not a scientific chronology or a map of current planetary positions.
